My name is Cristal Bittencourt.
I’m a Brazilian who loves advertising and has been working with digital marketing for the last eight years.
Now that I’ve chosen Canada to call home, I’m restarting my career.
Here’s what you need to know about me:
But if you’re not an infographic person, no problem! Here it goes:
I grew up in the ’90s, along with the development of technology and since I was only fifteen I already had a personal blog, followed by my first professional project two years later. Although I started my adult years studying law, It was only a matter of time before I could turn my hobbies into a profession.
In 2009 I created and managed a website called ‘Apaixonados por Séries’, and it gave me the portfolio I needed to start working as a social media manager in an agency. The website soonly became one of the biggest Brazilian portals about tv shows, where I lead, remotely, a team of 30 content writers from all around Brazil. Running for eight years, this project achieved a strong social media and online presence, with more than 8 million readers and thousands of followers on social media.
Fun fact: Before I started working in advertising, I got my degree and became a lawyer. But my personal projects helped me realize my passion for digital, and I soon started devoting all my time to digital marketing.
As my project grew, so did my career in the agency field, as I was promoted to Web Manager, also leading a team of 4 people in different digital areas: content, analytics, design and web development. In 2015 I got a postgrad degree in Strategic Communication and Brand Management and my career was once again boosted, as I started working in a bigger agency in Bahia.
Back then, I was able to improve my skills as a Digital Account Manager, creating and developing strategies across all digital platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Spotify and LinkedIn, always managing campaigns focused on measurable outcomes.
In my last experience at the Omnicom Group, back in Brazil, I was responsible for managing and overseeing the digital media planning and buying of many clients, mainly from retail, developing strategies, monitoring and reporting, always making sure clients understood what the agency was aiming for.
I also have a lot of experience writing reports with analytics social media tools, always concentrating on the right metrics for the brand, looking for both organic and paid media growth.
I am detail-oriented, creative, very organized, persistent and I have a strong sense of team spirit, which has allowed me to be coordinate both social and media teams. Being new to Canada, I also decided to go back to school, and I recently graduated from the Creative Advertising program at Seneca with a 4.0 GPA.
